In regard to the recent warning about Rocky Ford Cantaloupe, the Rocky Ford Cantaloupe advertised by Food Pyramid did not come from Jensen Farms in Colorado, the source of contamination which is currently the subject of a health warning from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Although no official recall has been made, Food Pyramid immediately removed all Rocky Ford Cantaloupe from their stores Tuesday, September 13th, following the release of the warning.

Food Pyramid has worked with local wholesaler, Associated Wholesale Grocers, to source cantaloupes from California, in effort to avoid any confusion associated with cantaloupes distributed out of Colorado.

Food Pyramid and Pyramid Foods take health concerns seriously, often leading the market in quarantining and removing products that are in question.
